Butterfly World

I like Butterfly World, although the butterflies weren't exactly forthcoming today. Bit cold for them I think. Anyway, loved running around and still haven't wet myself sans nappy!

Last week

Wow, what a busy week it was last week! Feel like my feet hardly touched the ground. It all started when nanny and granddad and Jasper turned up on Saturday. No sooner had they arrived than dad walked out the front door and I didn't see him again til Sunday. I always thought he got on alright with them (apparently he went to see some rugby, but I'm not sure I believe him. He was out all day!). The remaining family went to see some butterflies in St Albans. It called Butterfly World and I for one thought it was fab. They were everywhere. We're going back tomorrow and this time dad's coming. We asked other nanny and granddad but forgot that granddad has a bit of a phobia of butterflies and moths (have a look here if you don't like the winged beauties either - I Hate Butterflies! )..... so maybe not!
On Sunday dad disappeared again! This time with mum, so we went to the park and had some fun while mum and dad lived it up in London. I don't know, as dad said when nanny and granddad left, if they hadn't been here, he wouldn't have gone out so much. I'm not sure how they took that to be honest!
On Monday I went to see Alfie and Jack to play in the sun. Boy, it was hot. Fortunately, Alfie had his paddling pool and bouncy castle set up, so I spent all morning splashing about and throwing buckets of water about. Brilliant! Wasn't half tired afterwards though and couldn't even finish my Thomas the Tank Engine cake before I conked out in the car.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday both mum and dad were at work so Zoe and I ended up variously in nursery and being looked after by Alfie and Jade. Good fun, but I'm paying for it now, think Zoe is too. Can barely keep our eyes open. More sleep and less excitement needed I think.
Plus, on Friday, it was decided (without my consultation, I hasten to add), that I was going to be potty trained over half term. Not only that but the flippin' dummy fairies have stolen my dummy. It only seems to appear on my pillow when it's time for bed. I don't know how they do it but it's making me a bit grumpy on occasion (as dad will testify to in the car, stuck traffic. I was quite insistent that I have it, he was quite insistent that he hadn't got it!).
Yesterday was just a chilled day at home which I was quite grateful for. Zoe did some painting while I got lumbered with the washing up. Nice!

I love to garden

Ah, spring is here and I'm right into this gardening lark. I helped mum plant loads of flowers and now I need to water the everyday. Its great. Maybe I'm the one in the family with green fingers. Or maybe I'll get bored with it in a couple of weekas time!

Half term week

All change this week as mum has been on holiday so we've been out and about. Not for me the music classes, nursery and swimming lessons. This week we've been going out with friends, playing in softplay and holding hands.
On Monday it was Physical Education all the way with baby gym in the morning with Alfie followed by softplay in St Albans. I was shattered by the end of that I can tell you. Snowed all day.... again! None of it settled though.

On Tuesday I was dropped at the grandparents for fun at church. Great Auntie Doreen came along too which made for a pleasant change. She played with me at church which was good coz normally I have to entertain myself playing the piano!

We went to Verulamium Park on Wednesday with my little friend Eliza. She always wants to hold hands but today she kept running away from me. I got the hump and sat in my buggy. That soon brought her round as you can see. And we stood and watched the seagulls mobbing the ducks. Quite romantic!

Thursday was a bit of a damp squib. We were supposed to be going to Dorset but then dad decided to throw up and it all ground to a halt! So we stayed in instead. Not too bad. Watched lots of telly and then did some painting with mum while dad hid upstairs with Zoe. Speaking of Zoe. She's decided that now's the time to start standing up. I was a bit surprised when I first saw her I can tell you. I thought I was the only baby allowed to walk. What am I going to do? She's already pinching my train set when she's bum shuffling. How am I going to stop her when she starts walking too? It's a worrying development! I may have to erect barricades....

Sociable weekend.

Bit of a whirl this weekend. Mum and dad went out with friends on Friday night. Without me and Zoe! Disgrace! Then we got in on the action yesterday and visited Lilly and family in Wheathampstead. Didn't fancy the pasta bake much (which isn't like me), but I pudding (which is like me). Then we went for a long, long walk. I got to hold girls hands (which everyone thought was very cute). And we saw some ducks. Then we all got tired. I spent some time on dad's shoulders but walked most of the way. Shattered by the time we got back home though.
Today we're visiting the Jeffrey twins for brunch. Should be nice except I'm having to wait in the car while mum shops. That's put me in a grump!

Somethings...

Old habits die hard. I still can't resist my old walker when I see it. And when Zoe's not in it, well, it would be a shame not to I say.

State of the roads

Dad's been moaning about the state of the roads since the snow. Apparently he's not the only one who thinks they're bad!

In Verulamium park with my mate Josh this afternoon. Lots of big kids about but still enjoying myself.

It's Friday again!

OK, so now mum is a whole week overdue. Is young Ms Chapman trying to out do me on the overdue stakes? Mum went to the hospital to see the consultant yesterday while I played at nanny and granddad's (much preferable to waiting an hour an a half in a waiting room). Now she's been booked in to hospital next Tuesday which means Ms Chapman will definitely be out by the 10th. Good, I'm fed up waiting.Today we took a (slow, very slow), walk down to the sports centre so I could go to Gym babies. No one had told us it was closed for the day. Mum wasn't too impressed as she was looking forwards to having a sit down. So we toddled (well I did, mum waddled (see what I've done there?)) down to Blackbirds Moor again and we know what happened when we did that earlier this week (click here if you don't). However, dad didn't let me get close to the canal so I satisfied myself with pulling up all the weeds I could find. That was pretty good fun until mum produced a pot of grapes which looked much more appealing.Home for lunch (for me), dad went out to get a McDonalds for mum (and him mind) as she had an absolute craving for one. Having tried a bit I can't for the life of me see why, it was disgusting (save for the choccy milkshake which was quite nice but took a hell of a suck to elicit any of the goo)!
Then off to swimming with dad. I wasn't really in the mood to be honest, I just wanted to get out and wave to people and say hello. I enjoyed the splashing though. Fairly wore me out so I'm off for a kip now.

See you later.

Oh yeah!

Over the weekend I went on a train with nanny and mum and dad. Mum had to have a carriage to herself coz she was soooo big (uh oh, I'll get into trouble now!).

I meant to say...

I'm still uploading the odd photo to Picasa so if you want to take a look feel free. You'll find them here. There are a fair few of me looking older and more confused with the world and again I'll be trying to update them when I can.
Catch ya later.

I'm back!

I came back. It's been a while, eh? Got a bit busy with growing up and the like. Anyway, not much has happened since the last log. Just started to talk a bit, walk a lot, eat loads and tell mummy and daddy what I do and don't like in no uncertain terms. I got teeth and they're multiplyin' (sounds familiar), which is making me a bit dribbley but in general I'm a really happy boy. I love my sleep (12 hours a night) and mum and dad love me for that. So I'm 17 months old now and the world's my oyster (especially as Nanny Ball bought me my first pair of grown up Startrite shoes, I can walk anywhere).
So here's the deal and the real reason I'm back on here. Mum got big, real big. She's having another baby and by the looks of her it's not going to be long before it pops out. I'm going to have a BABY SISTER! Glad I got that off my chest. Mum's due on Friday 27th February. Well, not to put a dampener on it but just remember, I was two weeks late in the end and had to be hauled out of my cocoon! Let's hope it doesn't come to that, eh?
Can't quite decide whether I'm keen to meet her or not. I've had dad at home for over a year now which is great and now I've had mum at home too for the last month. Not to put too fine a point on it but I'm lovin' the attention! So what happens when Ms Chapman turns up. Will I be bottom of the pile. Will they still play with me, feed me and all that kind of thing. Or will I have to throw my toys out of the pram (metaphorically speaking of course as I don't use the pram anymore..... much!). But then it's an exciting thought to have a little sister and playmate I can grow up with, share with, fight with, you know the kind of thing. Well, there's not long yet, so I'll keep you up-to-date. When I know, you'll know.
