Would you believe it? It's been a month since my last update. Disgraceful! So what's been happening to keep me away from the keyboard? Hmmmm, I'll have to put on my thinking cap for a while.
Most momentously, it was my dear sister's first birthday. Happy Birthday Zo Zo! It was a fun packed day. Started off with a family visit to the softplay in Harpenden. We were joined by friends and rellies and Zoe spent her morning with her mate Josh who was one last week (they're all at it!). They had a great time as did I. Wore myself to a frazzle running around and spending most of my time on the tricycles. Round and round and round and, well, you get the idea. After that we all went home and I had a bit of a sleep. imagine my surprise when I came down to find people in my house. My cousins were there so we played in my bedroom. I played with Jack until he went downstairs crying. No idea why, but it was nothing to do with me (honest)! Auntie Jill drank wine coz it was her birthday the next day, so Uncle Steve had to drive (even though he normally does to be fair). Then mum made her take the rest of it with her for the car journey. Think she was slightly embarrassed!
And all the while Nanny and Grandad and Jasper were up to stay. Boy, Zoe's a bit scared of Jasper. Not me, I think he's great! He used to be a bit intimidating but now i really like him. I was sad when he went home but still drop him into the conversation now and again. Hopefully I'll see him at Easter when we go to see them at the seaside.
Mum's been a bag of nerves on account of having not one, but two interviews for a new job. Turns out this job is in a place called Singapore. She says it's along way away. It's probably up the M1, I know that's a long road, but I'm not sure. So we'll have to wait and see. Could be next week until she hears she says. Which, judging by the amount of fidgeting, is probably too long!
Meanwhile, dad's started to disappear for prolonged periods of time while we go and see Nanny and Grandad. He says he's working, but I know that he stopped all that in 2007. He hasn't worked a day since (although there was that time in 2008). Anyway, mum's excited about this as it means she can go out and spend some money. This, it would appear, is the first time we've had any to spare for a while. I hope I don't grow up to be one of those chaps who constantly chirps on about "when I were a lad" and "kids today" all that. I'd have to develop a northern accent to achieve it and I don't think I'm quite there yet (I can barely speak with an estuarine accent)!
Anyway, so far as I can figure the must have plenty of money. Mum came home the other day driving a brand new car. All shiny and red it was. So there, they must be lyin'. I fear that my favourite little blue car (or 'mummy's car' as I affectiontely knew it), has gone to the great scrapyard in the sky. What a shame, dad and I had some fun in that when mum and Zoe weren't about. I got to sit up front and kick the dashboard, much to the annoyance of dad. Probably can't reach the dash on the new one. Boo!
I'm sure there's stuff I've missed but at least I've made the effort for a change!
I'll write again sooooooon.
